Day 1

Land softly — a Bay morning if you land early (indoor Lego, an easy CityWalk lunch), then a kids'-plate dinner and an early night before Universal

  • MorningLegoland Discovery CenterOnly if you land early: an indoor Lego play centre inside Tempozan Marketplace, a few minutes from the pier by the hotel — step-free and stroller-friendly. The seed marks it firmly for under-10s and adults aren't admitted without a child, so the 10-12s get more from Universal; it opens 10:00 and trims before the big Universal day.
  • LunchGyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu Universal CityWalk OsakaOnly if you land early: a Kyoto-born gyukatsu (beef-cutlet) counter on CityWalk's 3rd floor, three minutes from Universal City Station and open from 10:00 — an easy, familiar lunch for a fussy eater. Trims before the big Universal day.
  • DinnerGottie's BEEF Universal CityWalk OsakaSteak and hamburger-steak on CityWalk's 5th floor with a kids' plate on the menu. Tonight, register every Studio Pass QR code in the Universal app (a whole party can be registered together) so tomorrow's timed-entry ticket for Nintendo's area is quicker.
Day 2

Universal Studios Japan — the whole day, lunch and the rest break inside the gates, dinner back on CityWalk

  • MorningUniversal Studios JapanKlook: a date-specific Studio Pass. Opening time changes by date, so read the day's Park Operation Hours calendar on usj.co.jp and be at the gate at opening. A standard ticket has no re-entry: lunch and a sit-down rest happen inside the park, and the Express Pass is a decision to make before you go.
  • DinnerBubba Gump Shrimp Co. OsakaKids' menu and vegetarian options on CityWalk's 5th floor — an easy place to arrive tired and unbooked.
Day 3

The gentle day — Kaiyukan at opening by shuttle boat, a cook-your-own lunch, a slow afternoon at Tempozan, and an optional night ride on the wheel

  • MorningOsaka Aquarium KaiyukanKlook or the aquarium's own e-ticket, 10:30 slot (date-and-time tickets in 15-minute entry slots; weekday opening is 10:30 in October). Take the 10:15 Captain Line boat from the pier beside the hotel — ten minutes to the aquarium's West Pier, and that boat is in the pier's busiest window, so be there by 10:00 — and leave the bags behind: there is no re-entry.
  • LunchTakoyaki Kingdom (Takoyaki Okoku)Cook-your-own takoyaki at the table, all you can eat, with a Ferris-wheel view upstairs. Fussy eaters have a fallback tonight: Kadoya's omelette and katsu.
  • AfternoonTempozan MarketplaceThe rest window: an indoor mall with seats and a re-created 1960s Osaka food street — a stroller nap or an ice cream, not a march.
  • DinnerHanjo Shokudo Kadoya (Kadoya Shokudo)Port-town diner open since 1952 — demi-glace katsu and a fluffy omelette. Closed Thursdays (today is Wednesday). Dinner here means no boat home: the last sailing leaves the West Pier at 18:00. For an earlier night, catch the 17:00 boat and eat on CityWalk instead.
  • EveningTempozan Ferris WheelOptional and bedtime-aware: a 15-minute ride with the bay lit up (the colour of its lights forecasts tomorrow's weather). Skip it if the youngest is flagging; the way back is a short taxi (the airport bus takes 13 minutes by road from Tenpozan to Universal).
Day 4

Last morning afloat — the Santa Maria sailing ship, a quick udon lunch, then the airport bus from the aquarium stop

  • MorningSanta Maria CruiseA 45-minute harbour loop on a replica of Columbus's flagship; weekday day cruises run hourly from 11:00 and the last one leaves at 16:00. Check out and bring the bags: the shuttle boat does not sail between 12:00 and 12:59, and the airport bus stops at Tenpozan (Kaiyukan).
  • LunchMenmen-tei Teranishi (Memmentei)Old-school udon diner — set meals come with a mini udon, right for small appetites. Be done by 12:40 for the 12:53 bus (Kansai Airport Terminal 1 at 13:38, Terminal 2 at 13:49).
