Day 1

Land softly — a rooftop-garden stroll and a first Dotonbori ramen if you land early, then a river cruise past the neon and okonomiyaki

  • MorningNamba ParksNamba Parks' terraced rooftop garden over the station (seed), open from 11:00 — an easy first Osaka stroll a few minutes from the hotel. Worth it only on an early landing; land in the afternoon and you'd skip this and the lunch below, picking up at the dusk cruise and the okonomiyaki dinner.
  • LunchKinryu Ramen DotonboriKinryu Ramen's Dotonbori counter, open around the clock (seed hours) — a quick, iconic first Osaka bowl a few steps from the canal.
  • AfternoonOsaka Wonder Cruise (Dotonbori River)Klook: the 20-minute Dotonbori loop from the Nihonbashi pier. Klook tickets board from 17:00 (the counter opens 16:45), the boat has a roof, and you may bring your own food and drink aboard.
  • DinnerBotejyu DotonboriOkonomiyaki — the griddled cabbage-and-batter pancake — at a Dotonbori house that stays open to 01:00, takes reservations and has an English menu. Book the arrival night; walk the canal past the Kuidaore Taro drummer clown afterwards.
Day 2

Market to Shinsekai — a guided Kuromon morning, udon, a quiet Shinsekai afternoon, kushikatsu, the tower after dark and a back-bar crawl

  • MorningKuromon Market Tour + Takoyaki MakingKlook: a guided walk through Kuromon Market, Osaka's 'kitchen' of about 150 stores, then you cook what you bought. Hours and closed days are set shop by shop, so take the morning slot on a weekday; meeting point and start times are on the Klook page.
  • LunchImai HontenKitsune udon, the house classic, in a kombu-and-fish-flake broth — a light lunch after the market. Closed Wednesdays and the fourth Tuesday of each month (today is a Thursday); it takes reservations.
  • AfternoonDoguyasuji ArcadeThe kitchenware arcade: takoyaki pans, knives and plastic-food samples for the suitcase. Open 10:00-18:00, so this afternoon slot is safe.
  • AfternoonJanjan YokochoA 180 m alley of kushikatsu counters, open 10:00-20:00 and quiet in the afternoon — a look now, dinner later.
  • AfternoonCafe DoremiRetro kissaten known for its thick 'mix juice'. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays, which is why the plan is built on a Thursday; cards limited to Visa/Mastercard and PayPay.
  • AfternoonShinsekai DistrictA 1912 vision of the future gone shabby, with kushikatsu and pufferfish signs. Crowded by day and at its best toward evening, so the plan spends the afternoon on the quieter alley and kissaten and arrives after 16:00.
  • DinnerKushikatsu Daruma Shinsekai SohontenKushikatsu — skewers coated in batter and breadcrumbs and deep-fried — at Daruma's Shinsekai flagship: 12 counter seats, no reservations, cash only, one drink each (its own page). One dip per skewer in the shared sauce, but the cabbage is unlimited; popular houses queue, so arrive by 17:30.
  • EveningTsutenkaku TowerKlook ticket. Shinsekai's 1912 retro tower, open to 21:45 (last entry 21:15); it is at its best in the evening, and going up after dinner skips the afternoon queue.
  • EveningUranamba Local Bar & Izakaya CrawlKlook: a guided crawl of Uranamba back-street bars, the kind without English menus, which is the point of the guide. Everyone drinking must be 20 or over; meeting point and start time are on the Klook page (the plan assumes about 20:15 after the tower).
Day 3

Last bites — a lion-head shrine, takoyaki, Hozenji's lane, old-Osaka curry, then a final Dotonbori graze before Nankai to KIX — the fuller slate if your flight's later, trimmed from the back if it's earlier

  • MorningNamba Yasaka ShrineThe shrine whose 12 m lion's-head stage swallows bad luck: free, twenty minutes, open 06:30-17:00 — go before 10:00 while it is quiet.
  • MorningTakoyaki Wanaka SennichimaeDashi-rich takoyaki at the Sennichimae flagship — open year-round, no reservations, no cards or IC cards (Tabelog).
  • MorningHozenji YokochoTwo stone lanes behind the neon and a moss-covered Buddha people splash water on — free, always open, twenty minutes.
  • LunchJiyuken NambaThe 1910 'meoto' dry curry with a raw egg in the middle — cash only, no reservations, closed Mondays (it is a Friday).
  • AfternoonDotonboriOne last graze along Dotonbori — the neon canal-side strip of takoyaki, kushikatsu and okonomiyaki stalls, the loud finish a food crawl earns. Then Nankai from Namba to KIX (about 38 minutes by Rapi:t, 44 by Airport Express); trim this for an earlier flight and head to the train straight after lunch.
