Seminyak — the polished beach all-rounder

Uluwatu & the Bukit — clifftop drama and surf

The mistake to avoid

Booking one base for the whole trip and assuming you'll "just drive to the rest." Bali's traffic turns a 25-km hop into two hours — pick one base for beach and a second for Ubud, and each day stays short. And match the base to the holiday: a party crowd in serene Sanur, or a family in the surf and scooters of Canggu, is a mismatch no view fixes.
